183 Double Eclipse

Neon, birch plywood, pain.

1.83 meters diameter (private collection)

2014 6’

The second of a recent series addressing cosmology, religion and minimal art. The double disk, and its iridescent silver and waxed wood surface, shifts according to the environmental light. 183 Double Eclipse is perceptually concave or convex, dark or reflective depending on the angle of view and ambient lighting. The artwork’s setting, surrounding glass windows, reflects the piece, delivering multiples of itself suspended and interposed against the Swiss landscape in the background.
