Nam June Paik/Laser sculptures 

In 1997 Raphaele joined Nam June Paik's NY studio for the development of his laser sculptures for his Retrospective "The World's of Nam June Paik" at the S.R. Guggenheim Museum (New York 2000, Seoul 2000, Bilbao 2001). She assisted Nam June and Norman Ballard in the design and build of his laser sculptures.

In 1998 while working on the development of NJPs sculptures, the laser team, Norman Ballard and Raphaele Shirley, worked with Creative Time for a Public Art installation of laser lights drawing text on buildings by Shimone Attie in the Lower East Side.
